BioTek Synergy H1 Multimode Plate Reader.  Capable of absorbance and fluorescence measurements, with both filter and monochromater based light paths.   This system is equipped with two reagent injection systems, and is capable of measurements in well plates (1-well through 384-well), standard 1 cm cuvettes, and 2 μL samples.  This instrument is the primary in vitro measurement device for calibration and analysis of the nanosensors in Aim 1.

Avantes ULS2014L Modular spectrometer system. Capable of absorbance and fluorescence measurements with filter based light paths.  This modular fiber-optic based system can collect colorimetric and reflectance data for the nanosensors in 1 cm cuvettes or dried on glass slides.  Light sources include white light sources (Xe flash with monochromator or filters) high power LEDs (365 nm, 405 nm), and lasers (405nm, 445nm, 532nm, 650nm, 980nm) for excitation. The fiber optic based light paths also allow analysis in non-standard settings.

Thermo Scientific Fluoroskan Ascent FL Fluorescence Microplate Reader. Capable of fluorescence measurements with filter-based wavelength selection.  This system is equipped with one reagent injection system

Branson Ultrasonication System. 400W ultrasonication system with an attached 1/8” microtip for nanosensor fabrication. 

pH/ISE Dual Reader

Nova Biomedical – Bioprofile 100 Plus. This bioanalyzer can be used to monitor metabolites (glucose, glutamate, etc.), pH, osmolality, and ions (sodium, potassium).

Bayer Healthcare – Rapidlab 248 Blood Gas Analyzer. This blood gas analyzer analyzes pH, pO2, and pCO2.

Tissue Culture Equipment. Two Fisher Scientific Isotemp 650D water jacketed incubators.  Class II biosafety cabinet. VWR shaker incubator.
